5 reasons why you need insurance.

Sure insurance is mandatory, but do you really need it? It’s a natural question because most of the time, you’re paying for it, but not using it. But there’s a lot more to car insurance than protecting your car.

Pay a little now. Save a lot later:

We built HiRoad to try to get to a world without accidents, but we’re a long way away. In 2015, we had 6.3 million reported car accidents in the United States. Accidents that cause property damage typically cost $9,300 according to the National Safety Council. And even worse, accidents that cause disabling injuries average a $80,700 cost!

Car insurance helps protect you from these astronomical (and unexpected) expenses. Liability coverage also protects you in case you get sued. So to protect you, we offer liability, comprehensive, collision, uninsured/underinsured motorist, and medical payments coverage.

Get guidance when an accident happens.

If you have car insurance with us, you also have experts to help you through the stress after an accident. There can be many steps: working with the other driver's insurer, filing a claim, getting your car fixed, and settling the claim. Accidents are stressful enough. Good auto insurance should provide a trusted guide.

Drive without worry.

You may be a master of traffic laws, the smoothest operator around. Perhaps you've never been in a car accident. Unfortunately, you’re not the only one on the road. But most of your risk on the road is actually from other drivers, which is why you want insurance to have your back. We help protect you from the yellow-light rushers, the texting drivers, the make-up-applying commuters, and the road-rager.

Supplement your health insurance.

If you're injured in a car accident and have insufficient health insurance (or none at all), car insurance can help. Most insurers offer coverages for injuries you sustain as a driver or passenger. (Some states actually require personal injury coverage.)

Even if you do have health insurance, car insurance can help pay for things your medical coverage might not. These could be care for injuries, dental work, funeral costs, or rehab.

Well yes, it is the law too.

In case you’re wondering, most states require drivers to carry a minimum amount of liability coverage. (We recommend more.)

Driving without it can result in fines or a suspended license. Some states may even impound your ride. Bottom line, the law is the law, but your livelihood is worth protecting.
