To earn a Safe Driving Discount, you’ll need to use the HiRoad app. Because the app uses the technology already in your smartphone, some devices are not compatible, so it’s a good idea to check ahead of time.
Here is a list of known compatible and incompatible devices:
Apple iPhone:
Our app works with these iPhone devices running OS16, such as these and newer models:
- iPhone 11 through 15 series
- iPhone 8 series
- iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation)
- iPhone X, XS and XR series
Android:
Our app works with phones running Android 10 or higher that support:
- An accelerometer
- A Gyroscope
- GPS support
- Background sensor support, even when the screen is off
