How do I set up correct location permission on Android 11 when I install or reinstall the app?

Take these steps to set up location permission on your phone’s operating system so you can log trips and earn your monthly discount based on your smart driving choices:

Step 1
After the Welcome screen, you’ll land on the Permissions screen with two sections: Location and Physical Activity.

Step 2
Choose the “Enable” button under Location, which will take you to a screen titled “Access your location in two steps”.

Step 3
Choose “Next”, then “While using the app”.

Step 4
Next you’ll see a screen titled “Allow all the time”; choose the “Go to settings” button. You’ll be taken outside to app to your phone’s Settings section.

Step 5
Choose “Allow all the time” to return to the Permissions screen. Under Locations, you should see “Enabled”.

Step 6
Now choose the “Enable” button under Physical Activity. Then choose “Allow”. Under Physical Activity, you should see “Enabled”. Choose the “Let’s continue” button finish up.

Your permissions are now set up so you can log trips with the HiRoad app.

Note: If you didn’t enable permissions when you first downloaded the app, you can change this by going to Settings > HiRoad and selecting “Allow all the time” for Location and “Allow” for Physical Activity.
