To earn a Safe Driving Discount, the HiRoad app needs to log trips and score your driving. That’s why, when you first download the app, we’ll ask for location access and a quick battery settings update.
Location
Turn on location settings so the app can log your trips and score your driving. Exact menu names may vary by device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Select HiRoad.
- Update your location settings.
- For Location, choose Allow all the time.
- For Physical Activity (Android 10 and above), choose Allow.
Battery
To help make sure your trips are recorded, set your battery usage for HiRoad to Unrestricted. We also recommend charging your phone before each trip.
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select HiRoad.
- Open Battery.
- Choose Unrestricted.
Your operating system may reset your location and battery settings from time to time, so it’s a good idea to check them occasionally. That can help keep the app working as expected.
